An index.

Student’s resume (1-2 pages)
·
Section on “Other Achievements”.
·
Section on “Sporting Achievements”.

Section on “Community Service”.
·
Section on “Work Experience”.
PLANNING SECTION
Define the Task
The task is
in three main stages:
1. Read and comprehend the “Recording
Achievements” handout and the several examples of Personal Statements etc
issued in Careers Classes.
2. Write
the various sections (by drafting, checking and publishing).
3. Construct the actual portfolio by creating all
presentation aspects such as the front cover page and divider pages for each
section.
Locate Information
The
instructional source of information is the “Recording Achievements” handout
included in the mail out to parents and issued to students in class.
Other
information can be found through consulting with parents and searching through
your own records.
Select and Analyse
Students
are first to read and highlight the relevant sections of “Recording
Achievements”. Students are to search through all existing records and for the
purposes of this document, leave out the records of any achievements that were
prior to the commencement of Year 9.
Organise and Synthesise
Refer
to the sequence listed underneath the term “task” on the front page. Your
objective is to present information in a logical order that is user friendly,
maintains the reader’s interest and is enjoyable to read.
Create and Present
While
every student is expected to meet the assignment guidelines, individual
creativity is strongly encouraged, as the Achievement Portfolio should be an
extension of your personality. Presentation is a vital aspect of this
assignment; simply imagine that the Achievement Portfolio will be submitted to
an employer when looking for part time employment or to a tertiary institution
as part of an alternative entry process.
Evaluate and Reflect
The
portfolio marking grid returned to you will provide a clear reflection regarding
the standard that you have attained. The entire process is an opportunity for
all students to reflect upon past achievements and look forward to future
career planning.
