YEAR 10 GEOGRAPHY
Coastal Management Assessment Task
Length: 800-1000 words.

value: 25% of course mark.
Date due: Friday 28 March 2008.
The purpose
of this assignment is to integrate fieldwork with an appreciation of how humans
have changed the shape and functioning of our coasts and to develop an
awareness of the potential effects of climate change.

Task
Present a report on
the issues involved in managing the coastal strip from the outfall pipe at
North Boambee Beach through to Diggers Headland at Park Beach.
PLANNING SECTION

* Analyse the impacts of
human intervention on the natural processes.
* Outline responses by
individuals, groups and governments to the issue.
* Suggest possible actions
that address the issue.
Locate Information
Use information
provided in class, details gathered on the field trip, Coffs Harbour City
Council booklets on the Harbourside Project, Internet and surveys to compile
your data.

Select and Analyse

in your own words from a number of sources and organise it under the

results of your research and analysis in report format. Use large, well labeled
maps and diagrams where appropriate.
