Purpose of this assignment:
The purpose of this assignment is
for students to gain understanding and knowledge of both public and private
forms of worship in the World religions.

Task
This task requires students to select TWO of the World
Religions and compare and
contrast one private form of worship and one public form of worship from each.
PLANNING SECTION
Define the Task

Students
are to undertake background reading on private and public worship in all five
World religions.

TWO of the religions above for closer analysis.

Undertake
a comparison of the ‘private’ and the ‘public’ forms of worship in each of
these two religions.
Note: Students
are to refer to class notes and Videos/DVD’S on private and public worship.
Locate Information
Information can be found in the 200s shelves in both the
Reference section and the Non-fiction section. You can browse these shelves or
use the Library catalogue to access information. Search the Internet and try the
Electronic Library newspaper archive (via the link on the search page: http://www.bdc.nsw.edu.au/search see
the Library staff for the username and password). Try some of the websites
listed below.
Select and Analyse
Students can use information in the form of text – pictures
and diagrams/charts may also be used. Consult a number of resources and make
notes from the resources you use.
Organise and Synthesise
Students may
wish to draw up a grid as a way of comparing and contrasting the information
from each of their two World religions. Students alternatively may wish to
choose an essay style or use sub-headings or a combination of presentation
styles. Combine your notes from the information sources you consulted to form
your own sentences and paragraphs.
Create and Present
Assignments
should be neatly presented in size 12 font.
