You are to work individually on this project. The business/organisation that you are researching must be approved by your teacher before you commence.
Purpose
of this assignment
To examine the systems that a business or organisation use and to gain experience in producing a project/report outlining these systems.

Choose a business or organisation where a relative or family friend works. Produce a PowerPoint presentation that demonstrates your knowledge of the technology and processes employed.
ASSIGNMENT PLANNER
To assist in the completion of this report you will need to use a word-processor to construct a questionnaire that you will use to interview a person employed by the business/organisation. In your report you will need to consider the following aspects of the business:
1. Produce two brief paragraphs indicating the purpose of the business/ organisation.
2. What are the input and output of the business/ organisation?
3. List the major processes involved in the business.
4. Construct an IPO Chart to represent the major processes that occur in the business.
5. Describe the main technology (hardware and software) employed by the business. For example, computers, printers etc. and their specifications.
6. Describe the role/s of the team members employed by the business/organisation.
7. Comment on the effectiveness of the system and suggest any improvements.
Revise the information about systems analysis from your class notes and textbook. Give your questionnaire to the person best suited to supply with you with the information you require. Ask other questions to fill in any gaps in your knowledge of the business.
Organise the information you collect under the subheadings suggested by the points in the ‘Define’ section. Create a storyboard for planning the outline of a PowerPoint presentation that demonstrates your understanding of the business/organisation.
Your presentation must be completed on PowerPoint and presented to the class in Week 9. You need to give your final product a professional look, using text and graphics as appropriate. Hand in your storyboard and completed questionnaire.
A successful case study will be well researched and will be presented in a thoughtful and polished manner. It will include all the required information outlined in the ‘Define’ section and will be a thorough examination of the chosen business system.
