First Aid Research Assignment

Length: Poster, A3 minimum size

Weighting: 15% of the year mark

Due Date: Term 1, Week 7, 2008

Many marine creatures have gained a dangerous reputation. Sickness, puncture wounds, stings, bites and even death are all accidents that can be caused by the animals with which we share the marine environment. However, if we learn to treat all marine life with respect and identify the behaviour of potentially dangerous marine creatures, we have a greater potential of minimising the risks associated with this environment. Accidents do occur though and the way you respond in an emergency situation could be vital to the survival of the people involved.

v      A drawing, picture or image of the chosen marine organism, of appropriate size.

v      A description of the type of injuries associated with the chosen marine organism.

v      A description of the symptoms an affected person may exhibit, (some will be less obvious than others).

v      A description of the first aid treatment required for your chosen injury.

v      Bibliography – to be written neatly on the back of the poster using the standard method for referencing.

Locate Information

Create and Present

The poster should be on cardboard, minimum size A3.
