ASSIGNMENT PLANNER

Bible stories to choose from:  (See the following page 2 for where to locate these stories in the Bible.)

Creation – the 6 days of creation and the story of Adam & Eve

Noah

Sarah & Abraham

Moses  (5 stories)

Naomi & Ruth

Jonah

Your picture storybook must be true to the Bible story – take care that you have understood the people, places, action and ideas or messages in the Bible story you have chosen.

Take these steps:

1.    You must read the Bible story first. You must not copy movie/TV/video versions of the stories you may have seen. Your own storybook must be based on the character(s) in the Bible itself.

2.    Discuss your choice with your teacher.

3.    Make some notes (in your Christian Studies work book) while you are reading. Here are some headings you might use:

- Who are the main characters?

- What happens in the story and where?

- What is being said about God/people/the world, etc.?

You will have time in class to consider this part of your project.

4.    Make a plan for your book (in your work book). Think about:

- How you will start and finish the story.

- What events will you include from your reading of the Bible story.

- What events will you leave out and why.

- The different “episodes” or parts in the story.

- How much space will you give to each part of the story.

- The pictures you will use.

5.    Do a draft of your book. Remember to keep the writing simple and check your spelling and grammar. Check the accuracy as well – names, places, etc.

6.    Now, produce your final copy. This will mean completing your project at home in order to make it the best it can be.

7.    Check your work again.  Make sure it has a title, and your name/class is clearly on it, and hand in your completed project for marking by the due date.
