Welcome to Bishop Druitt College Basketball. We are looking forward to an enjoyable and exciting year playing basketball, having fun and proudly representing our school in the local Coffs Harbour competition.

Any students wishing to play in a BDC basketball team must submit an online registration form. These forms can also be found in the BDC Parent Lounge. Once this form has been completed and submitted you will be invited into the basketball activity under 'Tours & excursions' in the Parent Lounge, where you can pay the annual fee online.

This will be accepted as the student's registration and permission, and your student will be placed in a team and receive a basketball singlet. Please note that all singlets must be returned at the end of the season or a replacement charge of $40.00 will be incurred.

Coaches and Managers

A big thank you to all our parents who volunteer to coach and/or manage our teams. We encourage parents and senior players to take on the role of coach or manager and would also like parents to volunteer as a manager for their child's team. Teams without a coach or manager will not be able to enter the competition. All parents working with teams are required to complete an online Working with Children Check, available from the red button below.

Domestic Competition Information and Costing

The following information relates to the domestic competition we will be entering. These are guides only:

  • Basketball training will be held in the Branson Centre.
  • Parents must collect their children promptly at the completion of training.
  • There are two separate competitions each year. There are approximately 15 games per competition plus semis and finals.
  • In addition to the one-off fee of $50.00 charged by the college, all players must register with the NSW Basketball Association in order to play in the local competition.
  • The Coffs Harbour Basketball Association collects all game and nomination fees. The charges per season will be announced soon.
  • Singlets will be handed out when teams have been finalised and fees have been paid through the Parent Lounge.
  • Please note that the basketball competitions are played over two terms and your child needs to be committed to playing for both terms.

We are looking forward to your involvement in BDC Basketball. We hope you have a fun and enjoyable time. If parents have any concerns please feel free to contact us at the school via email or the school phone number.
