Jane Tavener will be the guest speaker at this event. Jane is a mother, winner of the 2017 Coffs Coast International Women’s Day, Woman of the Year award and Founder of the Heart and Soul Foundation. Jane has an extensive background in project management and administration with not-for-profits and NGOs to drive community events, cultural work and fundraising drives and is an ambassador for empowering women.

“I am really excited to talk about Heart & Soul at this event. I will be sharing my story about how the Heart and Soul Foundation came to be, what it is, who it supports and how. As well as provide some information on our latest exciting project, Botanica, a fundraiser for the Heart and Soul Foundation.” Jane Tavener, Founder of Heart & Soul Foundation.

Heart and Soul Foundation is a Coffs Harbour-based charity established in 2012. It provides practical programs that support vulnerable women who have suffered violence and are recovering from trauma; allowing nourishment of heart, mind, body and soul.

They are facilitated by experienced local therapists and practitioners with the aim of ending isolation and helping to bring women into wholeness – feeling re-connected to self and community and therefore able to move from surviving into thriving.

The programs provide an opportunity for healing with a variety of workshops including mediation, yoga, self-love, empowered communication, music, dance and art therapy. These programs allow women to gain back their lives, developing resilience and confidence, enabling them to heal, connect back to family and the wider community, and often move into paid employment or study.

We are really excited here at Bishop Druitt College to have such an inspiring woman come and talk to our community about her incredible work and help us all celebrate Mother’s Day.” Nick Johnstone, Principal at Bishop Druitt College.

Raffle tickets will be sold during the Breakfast and some AMAZING prizes are up for grabs for guests to WIN! From hand-woven baskets, deluxe candles, 2 nights accommodation in Bellingen, spa voucher, gift vouchers and MORE. All money raised from the raffle and gold coin door entry will be donated directly to the Heart and Soul Foundation so they may continue to do amazing work within our community of women.
