Alumni News: Brandon Connor

Bishop Druitt College alumnus Brandon Connor attended the College from 2000 to 2009, beginning in Kindergarten and developing a passion for golf during his early years at Coffs Harbour Golf Club.
In 2005, Brandon was voted Primary School Captain and also became the youngest junior golfer at Coffs Harbour Golf Club to record a hole-in-one. The following year, he won the club's C Grade Championship. During Years 6 and 7, he reduced his golf handicap from 28 to 9 in just one year.
Throughout his time at BDC, Brandon represented the school at numerous events, including the NCSA Golf Championships in 2008 and 2009, the NSWCIS Golf Championships in Sydney, the NSW Interschool Golf Championships, and the All Schools Golf Challenge. He was also selected as one of three players to compete at the NSW Country Golf Championships in Canberra.
After completing Year 10 at BDC in 2009, Brandon completed his HSC at CHEC. In 2010 and 2011, he represented both the North Coast and New South Wales in the Combined High School Golf Team before spending the following years competing in state and national amateur championships across Australia. This provided him with the opportunity to play on some of Australia's premier courses alongside many of the nation's top players.
In 2015, Brandon commenced a traineeship with the PGA of Australia. Over the next three years, he competed professionally across Australia while developing a passion for coaching. After completing his traineeship in 2018, he began coaching at Coffs Harbour Golf Club.
In 2024, Brandon moved into the role of Golf Operations Manager at South West Rocks Country Club before recently being appointed Head Professional at Sawtell Golf Club.
Brandon has now come full circle, assisting with the BDC Golf Academy and bringing his experience and passion for the game back to the College where his golfing journey began. He is passionate about sharing the game that has provided him with numerous opportunities throughout his life and helping players achieve their golfing goals.
