Please note:
- Our college term dates are published to assist families and staff to plan their year ahead for holidays and family events. Where possible, please organise holidays outside of these term dates.
- From time to time, dates are adjusted due to government updates, e.g., ANZAC Day holiday, Olympics or operational needs. While unlikely, if there is a date change, we will make the adjustment and notify families in advance of the relevant date(s).
- All applications for extended leave (10 days or more) must be approved by the College Principal or Deputy Principal and should be submitted on the approved form, preferably the term before the leave is requested (with suitable evidence or reason).
- Extended leave requests also need to meet government census requirements (which usually occur in the first week of August). Please contact the college for further information if required.

School Professional Learning Days
- Each year Bishop Druitt College staff complete a range of professional learning, and this includes time after school hours and designated whole days as scheduled on our school calendar. The Office is open on these days for normal office hours.
- The dates have been included in this school term notification to assist with your planning and care of your children.
- Staff Professional Learning Days are student-free. Where needed, families are welcome to book into the OSCH program (well in advance of the date).
School professional learning days assist in building the knowledge and skills of our teachers, school leaders and school administrative support staff through a targeted professional learning program. Professional learning is important in continuing to build our staff capabilities as a professional workforce in an innovative and caring independent school. The days will usually focus on areas within our strategic plan, enabling whole school planning, enhancing teacher development, school leadership and management practices and implementing legislative and policy requirements.
Some staff professional learning is mandatory training and for teachers to fulfil accreditation requirements. Our professional learning also assists in a cycle of reflection and continuous improvement to develop students through the BDC Way and graduate attributes.
