Primary Mid-Term Update
What a sensational start to the year it has been! We are already halfway through the term, and our students have been absolute rockstars, representing our school with immense pride, talent, and determination.
Here is a look back at our recent triumphs, classroom highlights, and a sneak peek at what’s coming up...

NCIS Cross Country Champions
We witnessed absolute domination at the recent NCIS Cross Country carnival. Thanks to the incredible grit, stamina, and team spirit of our runners, our school took home 1st Place Overall among all competing schools!

North Coast Da Vinci Decathlon
Our Year 5 and 6 students recently competed in the prestigious North Coast Da Vinci Decathlon. They tackled a rigorous range of academic challenges requiring intense creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. We commend all participating students for their outstanding teamwork and curiosity!
Performing Arts: Eisteddfod Success!
Our voices soared at the recent Eisteddfod competitions! Our choirs brought their absolute best to the stage, delivering breathtaking performances and clearing out the podium.
- Joy Choir:** 1st Place 🥇
- Grace Notes:** 1st Place 🥇
- Primary Performance Choir:** 2nd Place 🥈
Thank you to our dedicated conductors and accompanists, and of course, our talented students for their beautiful harmonies.
Learning in Classrooms
Across K–6, students have settled quickly into routines and are engaging deeply in their learning. From rich mathematical investigations to creative writing, inquiry, and collaborative projects, it’s been an incredibly strong start to the term.

Year 5 Camp
Our Year 5 students recently returned from their camp! It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, offering students the perfect opportunity to build their independence, teamwork, and resilience in a fun outdoor environment.
Mother’s Day Celebrations
Seeing so many families joining us for our Mother’s Day Breakfast was truly heartwarming. The morning was filled with joy as students celebrated the important women in their lives through thoughtful messages, smiles, and shared moments.
What’s Happening Next?
As we head into the second half of the term, we have some fantastic events to look forward to...
Upcoming Athletics Carnival
Dust off your running shoes and practice your house cheers! The Athletics Carnival is just around the corner next week if the weather holds up.
EYE Week (Week 10)
We will be wrapping up the term with our highly anticipated EYE Week. Expect a week full of innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning experiences.
Make sure if you would like an EYE shirt that you have handed those into class teachers. If you would like to help out at our EYE festival please contact Rebecca Rodger on rrodger@bdc.nsw.edu.au .
More details will be shared as we get closer to Week 10!
Save the Date: The Primary School Fete! Wednesday, Week 10
We’re bringing our Primary community together for a relaxed afternoon of fun, food, and laughter. Get ready for amazing class stalls, tasty food, and plenty of student fun! All families are welcome.
Important Supervision Note: Because the fete takes place after school, all students must be supervised by an adult.
Token Information: This is a token-only event (most stalls are between 1–5 tokens). Don't wait scan the QR code on the flyer in the recent email about the Fete to buy your tokens now! Tokens will be safely distributed directly to students in class on the afternoon of the event.
Thank you to all the parents, teachers, and students who continue to make our school community so vibrant and successful. Let’s keep this amazing momentum going for the rest of the term!
As we all gather and stand upon Country, may we acknowledge and respect Gumbaynggirr Land and the thousands of years’ worth of both physical and spiritual connection to Country, culture and teachings embedded forever within these Lands.
