Bishop Druitt College is proud to highlight the inspiring efforts of our Primary Service Club, a dedicated group of young students who are playing a key role in this year’s BDC Christmas Appeal.

Each year, the BDC community comes together to support families and individuals doing it tough across the Coffs Coast. Donations are shared with partner organisations including Warrina Women and Children’s Refuge and Uniting Church Soup Place ‘Soupie’, helping bring comfort, dignity, and joy to local households in need. This year, our Primary Service Club students have stepped up once again—sorting donations, packing hampers, and encouraging their peers to give generously.

Year 6 student Koa Stokes says the project has helped her better understand the power of community: “It feels really good to know that something we’re doing at school will make someone’s Christmas happier. Even small gifts can mean a lot to families who are struggling.”

Year 3 student Cameron Macdonald shares a similar sentiment: “I like helping because it reminds me that everyone deserves kindness. We’re showing that kids can make a difference too.”

Representatives from the ‘Soupie’ have expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership and the generosity of the BDC community. Phil, Coordinator at the ‘Soupie’, said: “The support from Bishop Druitt College makes a big impact. These students are helping ensure local families experience dignity, warmth, and joy during the holiday season. Their commitment inspires the whole community. This year feels extra special, as it’s the 19th time Bishop Druitt College has backed this appeal — a real sign of their long-standing generosity and community spirit.”
