Futsal
Our Bishop Druitt College futsal teams enjoyed an outstanding day at The Northern NSW Football Champion of Champions tournament, with all teams demonstrating skill, resilience, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship.
In the U12 Boys, both teams played strongly, with BDC Blue showing amazing growth across the day and BDC Red taking out the final with a penalty shootout.
The U12 Girls fought their way into the final against older opposition, narrowly finishing runners up, while the U13 Girls Red team were crowned champions after an unbeaten tournament, with the Blue team also showing great determination.
The U13 Boys competed in the U14 division, defeating the other U14 teams to reach the final, while the U14 Boys were dominant throughout the day, remaining undefeated to claim the Championship.
The U14 Girls also secured the trophy, winning all their matches, including a thrilling 3 2 grand final victory.
Congratulations to all players for representing BDC with such commitment, pride and sportsmanship.
NCIS Volleyball
Our BDC U15 Boys and U15 Girls Volleyball teams travelled to Port Macquarie recently to compete at the NCIS Volleyball Championships.
It was a fantastic day of competition, with the students’ training and dedication evident throughout the day. It was great to see the improvement in their skills, teamwork and confidence as the competition progressed.
The U15 Girls played some great games and represented BDC proudly but were unfortunately unsuccessful in progressing.
A huge congratulations to our U15 Boys team, who made BDC history by being crowned NCIS Champions for the first time!
Well done to all students involved on a great day of volleyball and for representing BDC so proudly.
Netball
BDC took away 3 teams to compete in the Netball NSW Schools Cup Regional Finals on Thursday 20th August: Year 7/8 Boys, Year 7/8 Girls and Year 9/10 Boys.
The day consisted of fast-paced, highly skilled netball and we are proud to say our teams competed with great sportsmanship and pride!
Valiant effort by both Boys teams narrowly missing the semi finals.
But a massive congratulations to the Year 7/8 Girls teams who went through the day undefeated, including taking out the final over SJPC in an epic battle ending with a result of 13-6. Next stop, Sydney! Well done!
Rugby 7s
BDC U14 Boys and U16 Boys Rugby 7s sides recently played at a carnival in Kempsey.
The U14 Boys won their first game convincingly then lost their second game. They did make the semi-finals, but unfortunately went down in that game.
The U16 Boys were able to win two from three games which gave them a spot in a semi-final. They lost by one try after leading for most of the game.
All of the boys played well and never gave up trying throughout the day. They scored some great tries and showed exceptional sportsmanship.
Surfing
Ten students recently represented BDC at the Woolgoolga Surf Competition in stunning conditions at Mullaway Beach.
Against some very talented competition, BDC surfers were very competitive in both the Junior Boys and Junior Girls divisions.
Harry Wyatt and Jarrah White surfed their way into the quarter finals and narrowly missed out on progressing further.
Our girls were very competitive and all featured in the Junior Girls Finals.
Congratulations Alana Archer 4th, Mia Ryan 2nd and Isla Schomberg 1st.
