Jump Rope For Heart

This year, Bishop Druitt College primary students went above and beyond to show their support for the annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign. For six weeks, students jumped, skipped, and hopped their way to an incredible fundraising total of $11,864!

Our students dedicated an amazing 104 hours to skipping at home, all while raising vital funds for the Heart Foundation's research and education programs. This effort culminated in our much-anticipated Jump Off Day on Friday. The Branson Centre was filled with energy and excitement as students celebrated their hard work and remarkable achievements.

A big thank you to every student who participated, and to the families and community members who so generously donated. The success of this year's campaign is a true testament to the dedication and generosity of our community. Thanks to you, we're helping to create a future with healthier hearts for all Australians.

Buzzing with Excitement at Farnworth

On Wednesday 13 August, 17 students in our Kaizen Beekeeping course swapped the classroom for the fresh mountain air of Glenreagh, where they enjoyed their very first hands-on experience with the BDC honey bees.

After a scenic bus ride, the group suited up to learn about safe handling, honey harvesting, and how to care for bees through feeding. They were fascinated to observe the inner workings of a hive and see firsthand how these incredible insects live and cooperate.

The day was not only a chance to apply their classroom learning but also an opportunity to develop confidence and teamwork. Our students showed great maturity and enthusiasm, and should feel proud of the way they represented BDC.

A big thank you to Mrs Harris and Mrs Andrews for their guidance in making this buzzing adventure possible!
