But when you find your passion and you are lucky to turn that into a career – it is nice to get an award for doing something you love.

BDC Foundation Student Lyndall Potter was a member of the first Year 8 class who sat for their HSC in 1999. Since then Lyndall has married and has a family.

Coffs Harbour-based family daycare coordinator, Lyndall Cotterill has been crowned the 2021 Coordinator of the Year in Excellence in Family Day Care Awards. She says,

'Over my time being a primary teacher and now into early childhood – I have come to realise that school doesn’t always fit the mould for everyone – I tried hard at school but was just the average student (who did tend to get distracted by the goings-on of others too hahaha). But when you find your passion and you are lucky to turn that into a career – it is nice to get an award for doing something you love.'

'Family daycare is so different from teaching as it has extended me to work beyond children – taking things like the multiple intelligences and personality types into play with adults too – finding ways to showcase their passions to the children they care for. I love the part of inspiring them, mentoring them, and growing their programming for their children. So it is nice to receive an award like this – but it is also surreal that I get an award for doing something that I love getting up for every morning.'

Congratulations to Lyndall for this honour – another BDC success.
