Local BDC Playgroups receive a warm welcome in Valla Beach, Emerald Beach, Coramba and Coffs Harbour

Monday, 25 July 2022

BDC aims to give our community an important foundation for families and caregivers to find connections and support through like-minded parents whilst providing a safe space for children to explore and participate in fun activities.

‘The development and practice of new skills such as communication, sharing, language skills, cognitive, gross and fine motor skills as well as confidence are so important for a child’s growth.’ Kristy Smith BDC Playgroup Coordinator.

Kristy said, ‘We started our Playgroup at BDC every Thursday and we soon discovered that families wanted a local approach so we decided to expand our Playgroup out of our grounds and into the community. The very first BDC Playgroup that was hosted outside of BDC was on Mondays at Valla beach and what a warm welcome we had from the Valla Beach and surrounding communities!’

We are excited to announce that the BDC playgroup will be continuing on in Term 3 at the Valla Beach Community Hall on Mondays from 9-10:30 am as well as continue in our other three locations in Emerald Beach, Coramba, and Coffs Harbour through the week.

‘Throughout Term 2, I had the privilege of witnessing some beautiful friendships forming with both parents/caregivers and children in a warm, welcoming and supporting space’ said Kristy.

If you have a child from 0-5 and have been thinking of joining a Playgroup please feel free to come along and join in on the fun! You can find out more information and where to go via www.bdc.nsw.edu.au/events/bdc-playgroup-locations
