Performing Arts update - 2021 Term 4 Week 4

Friday, 29 Oct 2021

Welcome to week 4 from the Performing Arts Team,

This term we are showcasing all our wonderful pianists performing their pieces.

This week's piece is called Ginastera performed by Joshua Walraven in year 7.

I would also like to mention that Sophia Walraven passed her grade 4 exam with distinction last term.

Another performance I have put in this week is our Highly Strung group with James Rothacker on electric guitar and Conner Nathan on drums practicing the Pachelbel Canon.James is in year 12 and we thought it would be interesting to do a version of the Pachelbel Canon with guitar and drums. This was our first playing of the piece in this format.

It’s wonderful to be able to have ensembles again at school.

We are hoping that before the end of term our woodwind and brass students will be able to join us again in their ensembles.

Our Senior Rock Band will be performing in week 4 for our year 12’s final assembly.

The members are Sam Fisher, Max Egan, Jasper Thompson and Cooper Lane.

It’s a great opportunity  for this wonderful group to be heard as they would have been playing in the Musical.

I hope you enjoy Teo Ross’s own composition and film which he did in the holidays.

And here's Adelaide Robinson performing 'You've got a friend in me'. This was recorded for the Year 12 Valedictory Assembly, and our Kindergarten students performed sign language to the outgoing Class of 2021.

Thank you to all our wonderful performers and thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us all.

A special thank you to year 12 student, Nate Doherty for being a member of the School Orchestra for the last 5 years. We wish you well for the future.

Have a great week.
