Rodham Building Inaugurated: A monument to excellence and servant leadership

Tuesday, 05 Mar 2024

Today marks a significant milestone in the journey of Bishop Druitt College as we gathered to officially inaugurate the Rodham Building. This occasion pays tribute to the remarkable legacy of servant leadership embodied by Mr. Scott Rodham.

"The Rodham Building stands as a testament to our dedication to enhancing our college facilities for our students and staff. It is a symbol of progress and a tribute to Mr. Rodham's tireless dedication to our school," said Nick Johnstone, BDC Principal.

The Rodham Building, proudly standing as the new Bishop Druitt College mathematics centre, boasts four well-equipped classrooms, a staff room, storage space, and a meeting room with two kitchenettes. Moreover, plans are underway to fortify it further with a flyover roof, scheduled for construction during the upcoming end-of-term break.

Mr. Scott Rodham epitomises honour and selflessness. "I am deeply humbled by this recognition and grateful for the opportunity to serve our college community," remarked Mr. Rodham. "This building represents our shared commitment to education and student welfare."

"We also extend profound appreciation to the diligent planning and construction teams, led by our resourceful Business Manager, Mr. Shane Oxley, alongside our Property Manager, Mr. Shaun Powell, and the Project Manager, Mr. Gary Ryan," added Nick Johnstone.

Furthermore, we wish to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Xcorp and Harwyn teams in this endeavour.

Special recognition is also due to the BDC College Council, particularly Mr. David Ford, the BDC College Chair, whose unwavering support fuels collective efforts towards progress and development.

Nick Johnstone also said, “Looking ahead, our precinct is poised for further expansion, with the upcoming Integrated Learning Centre to the south featuring additional classrooms and office spaces, paving the way for further transformative projects within the heart of our college.”
