A return to remote learning - information, tools and resources

Tuesday, 17 Aug 2021

The weekend has resulted in a change to public health orders and our return to remote learning at Bishop Druitt College.

Our students have completed remote learning practice lessons this term. Extra reminders from teachers regarding lessons in their subject areas have also been given.

We understand that it may take a few lessons for everyone to get used to the online learning process.

  • Education staff 8:30am-4pm. Please do not expect any contact outside of these hours, as to assist with staff wellbeing and lesson preparation time
  • Follow the usual school timetable • Students should be on time and attend online lessons each day
  • Commences Tuesday 8.50am, with Period 1
  • Period 3 each day is offline, for helping at home and wellbeing. No scheduled classes.
  • Work to complete. This is used in each post to help students know what is essential to complete, either that lesson or through the week.
  • Video lessons: For some it will be a twenty minute lesson on Zoom/Google Meets followed by students completing tasks. For others it might be for the entire lesson. Teachers will contact students regarding this. (see attached video guidelines).
  • It is important students check their college email and Schoolbox News daily.
  • Years 7, 8 and 9/10 World Options use Schoolbox for classes.
  • Year 5 to 8 Kaizen courses have been paused and these periods on Wednesday should be used to catch up or complete course work or be screen free time.
  • Year 9 to 12 will use Google classroom or Schoolbox.

Please find here some supporting documentation which we hope you will find useful on your distance education and online learning journey:
